The City of Olathe operates a year-round program for Olathe residents to safely dispose of leftover, unwanted household hazardous materials, also known as "household hazardous wastes" or "HHW". This service is provided to all Olathe residents free of charge. No business waste is accepted.
HHW Facility Location and Hours of Operation
1420 S. Robinson Dr (behind the Olathe Municipal Services Center)
Hours of Operation
Collection events are held the 2nd Saturday of every month, 8 am - noon (no appointment necessary) or residents may call 913-971-9311 to schedule an appointment to drop off HHW items during the week.
What to Expect
It's a simple, drive-thru system. Upon entering, you'll be asked to provide your zip code and a general description of your HHW items. Next, you'll be directed to the unloading area, where City employees will unload the HHW from your trunk or vehicle. Be sure all HHW items are secured in your vehicle so they won't tip over or leak. Label any products not in their original containers.
Product Reuse Program
The City of Olathe Product Reuse Program allows Olathe residents to take materials home for FREE!
E-waste Recycling Program
Olathe residents wanting to recycle their old household computers, televisions, and other small electronics are able to do so through the City's E-waste Recycling Program.
