Drop-off Recycling Sites
The City's drop-off recycling program provides Olathe residents with a simple, FREE way to recycle certain household items.

The City can now recycle all plastic containers made from #1 through #7 resins!  In the past the City was limited to just recycling #1 and #2 resins.  As before, the City can only recycle plastic containers for food and household items.  Toys, plastic bags or film type plastic sheets can not be recycled.  Also, containers that have held automotive products, such as oil or antifreeze can not be recycled.

On a trial basis the City has placed a container for glass recycling at the Kansas Avenue and Poplar Street site.  The City can only accept glass bottles at the site.  No windows, mirrors or ceramic glass can be accepted.   Please rinse the bottles and sort them by color (clear, green or brown).  Currently, no recycling site in the area will accept mixed glass (multiple colors), so it is important to sort them by color.
