Fire Department

  Home heating tips.

An Olathe firefighter helps a child with a new bike helmet. We provide a wide range of emergency services and non-emergency services like inspectionssafety education, and emergency preparedness using more than 120 people, including firefighters and administrative staff. Olathe's fire chief is George Bentley.

Firefighters work 24-hour rotating shifts from 8 a.m. to 8 a.m. Our three rotating shifts provide service from seven, strategically located fire stations. Firefighters are on duty at all times, even holidays. Learn more about an Olathe firefighting career.

Contact us for more information at (913) 971-6333 - non-emergency - Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Olathe's emergency number is 911.

Fire victims can download an After the Fire booklet to help with the recovery process.
